This item appears in an somewhat amazing booklet entitled "Specimens of Printing, Compliments of C. J. Kelly" of Denver, Colorado, 1888.
Kelly, though out in the still fairly wild West was clearly attuned to the "Artistic Printing" movement happening back East.
His work is surprisingly sophisticated and clean for a western job printer; better, in fact, than that of many others back East.
The head of the firm's "Department of Fine Printing" was given as W. W. Slack. Fifteen or twenty more items from this specimen book follow this one.
