This c.1880 trade card served as both a business card for Charles and Lewis Dockstader and an advertisement for performances by Carncross' Minstrels (organized 1862) at the Eleventh Street Opera House in Philadelphia. The facsimile stamp and cancellation feature portraits of one of the Dockstaders in blackface, and two mail carriers are depicted as men in blackface. The Dockstaders were minstrel performers; Al Jolson performed with the Dockstaders when he was young.
